Take a peek at some of our funniest stories while traveling with the kids. It’s not always the most glorious experience but it certainly makes for memorable stories to tell.

I also will love to hear from you and your traveling horror stories. I will start with a trip at the Paris Orly Airport. We were starting our journey home after an amazing 3 weeks in France. We had an 11:00 AM flight and we arrived the standard 3 hours for international flights. We waited in the check-in line for nearly 2 hours. We got to the counter and the attendant wanted to bump us from our flight. Mind you, we were traveling with two young boys, a teenage, my husband and my mom. My husband stood there and said “nope, we are getting on that flight.” They tried to tell us to move to the side so that they could help other people while they get a manager in the back to help us. Well, my husband wasn’t playing that game either. He said, we aren’t going anywhere and you’re helping us while your manager comes out. You are not moving us to the side. We have been waiting in line for 2 hours and we are getting on a flight that we booked nearly a year ago.

The attendant was adamant that we move. Well, we parked ourselves:

We had a 1 1/2 year old and a three year old at this time. So 2 hours in the check-in line was brutal enough, now they were trying to bump us. We waited an additional 45 minutes here until they were finally tired of us and we had to sprint to our flight (meanwhile I had to change a dirty, smelly diaper at this exact moment). They’re are great about timing, aren’t they?! So we barely made it to the plane and then realized that Air France had put ALL OF US in different seats across the plane. Yep, including my one year old (who we bought a seat for) and our 3 year old. As much as it would have been nice to have babysitters on a 9 hour flight back home, I don’t think that’s what the other passengers signed up for. So that was another obstacle that we finally passed due to the courtesy of some other passengers but it was quite a rough start to our already LONG day.
